The Four-Part Series Stars Genevieve Barr (The Accident), Douglas Henshall (Who Is Erin Carter?), Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey), and Gina McKee (My Policeman)
Ovation TV, America’s premier arts network, announces the next thrilling series to air during its Mystery Alley destination on Saturday nights. The Silence is a BBC miniseries about a deaf 18-year-old struggling to find her place in a hearing world after being fitted with a cochlear implant. That process becomes life-threatening when she witnesses the murder of a policewoman, propelling the reluctant teen into a cacophony of police corruption, betrayal, drugs, and murder. The four-part series starring Genevieve Barr, Douglas Henshall, Dervla Kirwan, Richie Campbell, Gina McKee, and Hugh Bonneville will debut on Ovation TV on Saturday, November 11th at 7pm ET.
Part One airs Saturday, November 11th at 7pm ET
When 18-year-old Amelia receives a cochlear implant, the deaf girl must learn to make sense of sounds for the first time. Wanting to adjust to the hearing world and break free of her overprotective parents, she goes to stay with her homicide detective uncle, kindly aunt, and their party-loving children. But when Amelia sees a murder, she becomes the key witness in her uncle Jim’s case.
Part Two airs Saturday, November 18th at 7pm ET
Amelia identifies one of the policewoman’s killers–but he’s a detective on the drugs squad. Jim starts to suspect that there’s widespread corruption on the squad, and his position on the Shilliday murder case becomes increasingly compromised as his own team closes in on the very witness he’s trying to protect: Amelia.
No episode airing on Saturday, November 25th, Thanksgiving Weekend
Part Three airs on Saturday, December 2nd at 7pm ET
Jim sends Amelia to spy on a conversation between Rocky and Mac that implicates Mac in Shilliday’s death. As the crooked cops on the drugs squad begin to realize that Jim is onto them, they embark on a campaign of harassment against Jim’s family. With Amelia now in even greater danger, Jim comes clean to her parents, leading to an emotional confrontation between the brothers.
Part Four airs on Saturday, December 9th at 7pm ET
Amelia goes to a police station in another town but refuses to divulge what she knows until she’s guaranteed protection. Jim reports the drugs squad to the Professional Standards unit, which launches an investigation. However, Mac angles to turn suspicions against Jim instead. Can Jim expose the corrupt cops and keep his niece safe?
