Los Angeles, CA: Expanding upon its Stand for the Arts Awards initiative launched in 2017, Ovation, America’s only arts network, recognizes twenty outstanding public schools and school districts in the NYC metropolitan area. The initiative is part of Ovation’s national arts advocacy platform called Stand for the Arts and has committed $100,000 to support these schools. The announcement was made today by Sol Doten, SVP, Content Distribution Marketing, Ovation.
With the support of local elected officials, Ovation recognizes these schools and districts for their commitment to providing a well-rounded education to the youth of New York City and Long Island. Each school/district will receive a $5,000 Stand For The Arts Award to help further deliver quality arts education to their students.
“Ovation believes that everyone should have access to the arts,” said Doten. “We are proud to stand alongside these NYC and Long Island elected officials in honoring these outstanding schools. Through the arts, the creative process teaches students important life skills, from problem solving to decision making. Experiencing and participating in the arts builds self confidence that inspires us all. Ovation strives to support the arts both on and off air in NYC and all across America. As the new home of the legendary NYC institution Inside The Actors Studio, it is important for Ovation to give back to the local community.”
