Doc Martin to Follow Death in Paradise, Expanding Thursday Nights with a Double Dose of British Mystery
Ovation TV, America’s only arts network, will begin airing the first five seasons of British drama series Doc Martin next month. Created by Dominic Minghella, Doc Martin is a beloved dramedy produced by Buffalo Pictures and executive produced by Mark Crowdy. Martin Clunes stars as the gruff Doc Martin in this comedic fish out of water tale about a city doctor who moves to the country. Doc Martin will air in three-hour blocks starting on Thursday, December 9th at 11 pm ET. Viewers can enjoy a double dose of British mystery every Thursday night, with three episodes of Doc Martin airing immediately after four episodes of Death in Paradise.
When the brilliant but socially awkward and neurotic Doc Martin develops an aversion to blood, he abandons his career as a celebrated London surgeon and becomes the only doctor in a sleepy small town where his tactless manner soon has the whole town in an uproar. Season one will begin airing on Thursday, December 9th. Season two will begin airing on Thursday, December 23rd. Additional seasons will air in 2022.
Episodes will also be available on-demand and on the Ovation NOW app via Roku, iOS devices, Apple TV, and Android. Episode descriptions are below.
